//when on branch 'dev' make branch 'myFeature' off of 'dev'
git checkout -b myFeature dev

How to check in which brach we are in git

git branch -a # it will show an astrick * like *master
git branch --show-current # source == git remote --help

How to switch branches in git

- git checkout branch_name --> goes to branch that already exists
- git checkout -b <branch_name> --> creates a new branch and switches to it.

Create new git branch and switch to it

git checkout -b mybranch
